Cortex 360 Factory Reset Procedure

The new generation Cortex 320/360 units from Davicom are virtually “unbrickable” because the Cortex firmware can be re-installed from a USB image file.

Another enhancement is the ability to perform a Factory Reset with front-panel buttons.

Cortex 360 Factory Reset (only possible using DavLink USB connection or front-panel buttons).

CAUTION: You must save the Cortex 360 unit configuration before doing a Factory Reset.

IMPORTANT: Record the unit IP Parameters, usernames, and passwords, because these parameters are never uploaded with the configuration file. You will need to re-enter them after a Factory Reset.

PART 1- Using the front-panel USB connection on the Cortex 360:

1.1a – Use DavLink to connect locally through the front-panel USB port of the Cortex 360 unit.
1.1b – Go to System/Administration.
1.1c – Select Configuration Transfer > Davicom to PC, and save the file. See screenshots below.
1.1d – Select the Factory Reset option and confirm the selection, and then wait until the unit reboots.
1.1e – Re-connect locally to the unit and re-enter your IP Parameters, usernames, and passwords.
1.1f – The unit will disconnect to update the IP Parameters.
1.1g – Re-connect to the unit and reload the unit configuration that you saved previously.
1.1h – To reload the configuration, go to Configuration Transfer > PC to Davicom, and reload the saved file.

PART 2- Using the front-panel OLED buttons on the Cortex 360:

1.2a – Use DavLink to connect locally through the front-panel USB port of the Cortex 360.
1.2b – Go to System/Administration.
1.2c – Select Configuration Transfer > Davicom to PC, and save the file. See screenshots above.
1.2d – To start the Factory Reset process; disconnect power to the unit for about 10 seconds.
1.2e – Re-connect power and wait until the blue LEDs on the front panel light up.
1.2f – When the LEDs light up, press and hold the LOCAL button and watch the OLED display.
1.2g -After about 20 seconds the Factory Reset / Load Previous menu appears on the display.
1.2h – Select the Factory Reset option and confirm the selection, and then wait until the unit reboots.
1.2i – Re-connect locally to the unit and re-enter your IP Parameters, usernames, and passwords.
1.2j – The unit will disconnect to update the IP Parameters.
1.2k – Re-connect to the unit and reload the unit configuration that you saved previously.
1.2l – To reload the configuration, go to Configuration Transfer > PC to Davicom, and reload the saved file.
