How to Disable Voice Alarm Preambles and Extra Information in the Davicom Cortex Series

If you find your Davicom Cortex remote control a bit too “talkative” when it calls with alarm information, and you would like the unit to “cut to the chase” and give you the details of the alarm without all the preambles and extra information, alarm call parameters can be controlled as shown in the steps below. 

1- Log-in to the unit 

2- Go to the System drop-down menu

3- Click on Alarm Parameters.

4- The last section is for the Voice alarms parameters. There, you can un-check the Preamble, Action Type and I/O Announcement boxes to reduce the Davicom Cortex’s chatter when it calls. The last checkbox only applies when alarms are sent via the local audio output to a speaker or two-way radio mic input.

5- Save the configuration.
