This article will guide you in installing a Cortex SSL certificate on your Web browser.
Pre-configuration for a Cortex unit with public IP access
If your Cortex unit doesn’t have a public IP address or URL, you can skip this section and go directly to Section 2 Installing a certificate.
Launch your web browser (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, etc.) and enter the unit’s IP address in the URL box. Follow the usual steps to log in to your Cortex unit. If you do not know how to connect to your unit this way, see this article.
Go to the System menu and click on IP Configurations.
Then, click on Advanced.
Next, enter the external IP address or URL of the unit.
Save the configuration.
This message will appear and you will be disconnected.
Wait 30 seconds and log back in.
Go to the System menu and click on Administration.
Click on Update Certificate.
Click Yes to confirm.
This message will appear and all users will be disconnected.
Installing a certificate
Launch your web browser and enter the unit’s IP address in the URL box. Follow the usual steps until you reach this screen (the login screen). If you do not know how to connect to your unit this way, see this article.
Click on Zipped Root SSL Certificate in the bottom right corner.
The file should download and appear at the bottom of your screen. Click on the downloaded file to open it.
Double-click on the file myCA to open it.
When this pop-up appears, click Open. It is perfectly safe to open this file.
You should now see this window. Click Install Certificate… .
You do not have to edit anything on this next screen. Click Next.
On this next screen, choose Place all certificates in the following store. Then, click Browse… .
Choose Trusted Root Certification Authorities and then click OK.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
This window confirms that you successfully installed the certificate. Click OK to finish.
Important: You must close the web browser after finishing these steps to apply the changes.
