AXON/NEURO as a Modbus Unit

AXON/NEURO units can be used to provide simple I/O expansion for Davicom’s Cortex units, or for any other MODBUS master device. In MODBUS Mode, the hamburger menu is as shown below: Most System settings are the same as for Standalone Mode, except that the Home / IP Parameters section will be different. The SNMP tab is replaced by the Modbus TCP tab and there are no Email or Axon/Neuro Command server tabs.

When a new, non-configured AXON/NEURO is connected to the same network as a Cortex it will be detected automatically and added as a Modbus expansion unit. Similar to adding a MEXM expansion device to the Cortex, users may also click the Detect button in the Cortex menu under Devices > AXON & NEURO. Make sure the IP address of the AXON or NEURO is visible to the Cortex so that it can detect it.
