External Voltage Detection Status Input (Wet Contact Mode) (Cortex 360)

This article will show you how to set up the DIP switches inside the Cortex to change Status Inputs from Dry Contact mode to Wet Contact mode. In this example, we will be configuring Status Input 1.

1- Locate the DIP switches inside the Cortex.

There are two sets of DIP switches, each numbered from 1 to 16 on the board. The set on the left isolates the GND and the set on the right controls the usage of the Pull Up resistor.

2- To change the first Status Input into Wet Contact mode, locate the Pull Up resistor switch labeled “1” and move it to the “OUT” position. This will ensure that the Pull Up resistor is no longer on the circuit and the Cortex is ready to detect external voltage.

3- Then, to isolate the GND, locate the switch labeled “1” on the other set and move it to the “YES” position.

Status Input 1 is now in Wet Contact mode and can detect external voltages.

4- Repeat the same steps on the other switches if you wish to change other Status Inputs into Wet Contact mode.

You can now move on to the configuration of these Status Inputs. Please refer to this article for more information.
